Though it is referred to as the "Iwo Jima Memorial" the statue is in fact the United
States Marine Memorial. The statue is based on Joe Rosenthal's Pulitzer Prize winning
photograph. The 32-foot tall cast bronze statue is near Arlington
National Cemetery.
